Successful expert visit as part of the accreditation process
On March 25 and 26, 2021, the universities involved in the program, Lübeck University of Applied Sciences (THL), University of Lübeck and University of Southern Denmark (SDU), were visited by an expert commission as part of the accreditation process.
The on-site visit had to be conducted online due to the Corona situation. Nevertheless, it was even possible to conduct a laboratory tour, during which the laboratories of the three universities were presented. The reviewers had discussions with the university administrations, the program managers as well as students of the previous study program Biomedical Engineering. The evaluators were already very positive during the visit. The review was a great success, as evidenced by the following excerpt from the reviewers' report:
"The overall impression that the review panel was able to gain of the Master's study program Medical Microtechnology is very positive. The concept conclusively addresses the need for qualifications in technology development within various fields of biomedical engineering. It is particularly noteworthy that the cooperation between the THL, the UzL as well as the SDU combines and bundles the respective competences and resources in this interdisciplinary course of studies. At the same time, mobility, internationality and intercultural competence are strongly promoted through the teaching language English and the integrated change between the cooperation partners. On the part of the students, the excellent individual support provided by their professors is emphasized, although it should be noted that the statements made by the students surveyed refer to their experiences from degree programs already in progress."
